Privacy Policy — Strength for Runners

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Strength for Runners ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Strength for Runners app ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

This policy is a practical description of how we operate the App. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use the App, we may collect:

Your email address, used to create and manage your account.
Information you provide during onboarding, including your strength training background and training goals.
Equipment preferences you indicate within the App.
Areas of concern or discomfort you optionally select, so the App can adapt exercise guidance to your current needs. This information is used only to tailor your training experience and is not a medical record.
Workout activity, including which sessions you view, complete, and how you engage with exercise content.
Training history, including completed workouts and session records.
Product usage and interaction events, collected to help us understand how the App is used and improve it over time.
Technical and device information, such as device platform and app version, provided through analytics services.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and maintain your account.
Personalise your training programme based on your preferences and current needs.
Track your workout history and progress within the App.
Improve the App based on how it is used.
Respond to support requests and provide assistance.
Communicate with you about the App, including during the beta period.

We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.

4. Product Analytics

The App uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to help us understand how users interact with the App. PostHog may collect information about screens you visit, features you use, and actions you take within the App. This information is associated with a unique identifier derived from your account.

We do not send your email address, name, or the specific content of areas of concern you select to our analytics service. Analytics data is used solely to improve the App.

5. Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

Supabase — provides authentication, database, and storage infrastructure. Your account data and training information are stored in Supabase. See supabase.com/privacy.
PostHog — product analytics. See section 4 above and posthog.com/privacy.
Apple TestFlight — used to distribute the App during the beta period. TestFlight is subject to Apple's own privacy practices. See apple.com/legal/privacy.
Google Workspace — used to receive and respond to support email sent to support@strengthforrunners.com. Google's privacy practices apply to email correspondence. See workspace.google.com/terms/privacy.

Each of these providers processes data under their own terms and privacy practices. We select service providers that we believe maintain reasonable data security standards.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your account and training data are stored by Supabase. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect information within our control. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and training data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. If you request account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to remove your personal information from our systems, subject to any applicable legal requirements.

8. Account and Data Deletion

Users may request account and associated data deletion by contacting us at support@strengthforrunners.com. We will respond to deletion requests and take reasonable steps to remove your personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. International Users

The service providers we use to operate the App may process your information in various countries. By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, subject to those providers' own terms and privacy practices.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
